“F” is for “First Post.”

This is the first post on this sparkling brand new shiny blog that my friend created for me. I am here to have fun and write about things that I enjoy. Some of my posts will be random short stories that I am excited to write and share with you. Other posts will be about book or movie reviews that I read/watched recently.  I always wanted to be a writer but I was never really good at it. This blog is is something of experimentation, so I can practice writing and strengthen my weaknesses. I am very grateful for this opportunity and I hope you find something you enjoy as well! Feedback is always welcomed and if you want you can email me at gabrielzero3@gmail.com

Special thanks to Krystle for this shiny new blog. I appreciate her taking the time to show me around word press. Hopefully you can bare with me as I work out the kinks of being a newbie blogger.

Some of my writing inspirations include Brian Keene, Joe Hill, David Lynch and Jason Aaron.  My whole life I’ve always been a bit of a time waster. I enjoy playing video games for a unhealthy amount of time, I also love to lose myself in the world of manga, comic books and horror novels. Escapism into fantasy and science fiction has always been my anti-drug as it is for most people going through tough times and hardship. Hopefully as I start to build up more content on this blog, I can do the same for some of those who are going through difficult times as well.

Below are some covers to my favorite books that got me into writing. Brian Keene has been a huge inspiration to me, I have never felt so strongly about another writer until I stumbled upon his work. I am also grateful to have had the opportunity to read Joe Hill’s various novels like Horns, NOS4A2, and Heart Shaped Box. If you feel like sharing any recommendations with me you can shoot me a shout out below.

As you can probably already tell I am heavily favoring post apocalyptic books. That has always been my personal taste ever since I was eight years old. When I was a child I was raised on a heavy does of Terminator 2, Mad Max, and comic books with dark storytelling like the Days of Future Past saga featured in Uncanny X-Men. If you are a fan of the genre as well, expect lots of fanboy reviews featuring novels that take place in a dark post apocalyptic world.

That’s it for now! Happy trails within the radioactive wastelands.
